Rolling Out Mobile-First Indexing March 2018

Image
Google announces that  after a year and a half  of careful experimentation and testing, we’ve started migrating sites that follow the  best practices  for mobile-first indexing. To recap, our crawling, indexing, and ranking systems have typically used the desktop version of a page's content, which may cause issues for mobile searchers when that version is vastly different from the mobile version. Mobile-first indexing means that we'll use the mobile version of the page for indexing and ranking, to better help our – primarily mobile – users find what they're looking for. SIMPLE TRUTH ABOUT WINNING TOP SEARCH RESULTS

Image
Search engines are today’s most important source of information. Especially when searching for a local practice. Over 90% of people don’t look past the first page of search results. A coveted top position results from a combination of strategies called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). That brings us to our big question: How long does it take to get to that first page? Clients call us with this question every day – and it makes sense. You want your business to grow. SEO requires a financial investment, and you want results for your money. Any company that does is not being honest. They might be using unethical techniques (called “black hat” SEO) to get those quick results. Those techniques will only get your practice penalized by search engines. Not offering guarantees makes some business owners uncomforta...

Local Business Listing Websites in Australia

Reputable Directories A number of reputable directories are more than likely going to be a trusted source. Especially when that listing carries – A phone number An email address (or other means of direct contact) An ABN or registered business number A postal address (physical location) Hours of operation Feedback and or customer reviews Of course, it’s possible to submit a spammy site to a lot of directories, but I’m talking about directories that are heavily moderated and submissions go through a strict approval process. Questions and Answers - H1 tags, Iframe, Content, Title

1. How is Google handling multiple h1 tags in HTML5? Google does not treat HTML5 differently & having multiple H1 tags on a page is fine. Be reasonable when using them, use them where they make sense. There's definitely no penalty for using H1s.  2. Title Tags and H1 Tags should be different? I think its good practice to let title tag and main headline look similar for two reasons: 1. Usability - if title and headline are more or less the same, it's easier for users to identify the page they clicked through to from the result pages as the one they found on the search engine because search engine results use the title as main result element, whereas the element immediately visible on the page is the headline, the title there is invisible as long as users don't know exactly where to look for it. It may, therefore, irritate users if title and headline differ too much. 2. Keyword prominence - it's obvious that it makes sense to use the same keywords ...
